Whining Hannah has begun whining while waiting for something she wants, example, We are putting on our walking shoes and getting the leash out, she is at a sit stay. We are having her sit stay next to one of us while someone is coming in the house. She starts whining if she knows this person and wants to run over for a greeting. She's like a spring loaded Jack in the Box while she's waiting. We've been ignoring the whining, literally, no eye contract or talking to her except to say stay if she looks like she's going to break. Is this correct or should we be doing something else?

Re: Whining If she is holding her stay, what more would you be doing? It is stress whining and may or may not eventually go away. No harm no fault.

Re: Whining No, it is not backtalk. It is stress. As she becomes more and more accustomed to the ritual, it should decrease. She is not being bad, just anxious.
