When do they calm down??

When the dog has basic obedience training, they will appear to be calmed down, because they have learned to control themselves, with your help. Without that training, do not believe anyone that these dogs calm down simply due to aging (although I have seen some Rotts that appear calm, even though relatively untrained, due to excess weight on them!).
I have a 7 year old that can be every bit as "wild and crazy" as my 1 year old.....

NEVER!!!!!! Ha-Ha-Ha.... :D ! Seriously, Ben was a spaz at 18 months, but after we got into obedience classes, he has more self control and he knows when it is appropriate to be a spaz (at least I think he does!). When it's playtime, he's nutjob, but when it's time to work (at obed class or while out for a walk) he's pretty calm. He's 3 yrs old next month, and I'm fairly certain that he'll be a gooberhead for the rest of his life! :D

My girl is still acting like a puppy at 1 1/2 years old, even with obedience training. I think it depends on the dog. Chico was calmed by this age, but she isn't. Dogs are like people: each one is an individual.
good Luck and keep at it!

Thanks everyone. She has been through obedience training as well. She has two speeds, on like fire and off. When she's going, shes going going going and then she plops, sounds like an earthquake and an old man sighing. She is only a little over a year old though. She's my baby, spaz or not.
