this too shall pass, I hope

this morning hilda got my glasses off the bedside table. out from under my book. she, with great precision, removed and ate the little silicone pads that rest on the nose and the plastic parts that go over ear. now the nose part is just tiny empty holes and the ends that go over your ears are bizarre zigzag bare wire. everything else is just fine. all I can say is that I really needed new glasses anyway...sigh.

How nice of Hilda to help you get new glasses I can totally picture her doing this (maybe because I have seen my little thief do something very similar)

sneaky girls. what puzzles me, although I'm glad about it, is that she never chews shoes or books. Those are two things that we are bad about leaving around. everything else is a distinct possibility. I feel bad, because she will come to me to play and I am busy, ususally here at the computer. brings a toy and puts it in my lap, gives up then she goes and gets something of mine to chew up.

Yes, They certainly would smell like you, possibly a bit more than most inanimate objects. The parts she selected are usually a bit softer and more porous so they would also absorb more of your perspiration/body oils etc.

I've learned to put my glasses in a drawer or up higher. Mine never chewed a rung on the botton of a chair, a shoe, clothing ...absolutely NOTHING, but tissues and my reading glasses. Go figure!

lucky. mostly mine gets underwear, a bathing suit or two... lets see, count blessings; she could have but didn't get my cell phone, a big cash deposit I was counting and left on the edge of the table, many pairs of shoes. someone gave me a rottie bookmarker. I showed it to her, she likes pictures, and later she slipped it out of the book and chewed it up. She got dh's paycheck, but only chewed the stub part.

Charleigh usually drags "female unmentionables" out of the bathroom trash. (Gag, blecchh, yuck... ) I finally got smart and got a trash with a tight lid...

she was VERY quiet. I didn't know till I was looking for my glasses--"I know I put them right here...."

don't you just love it when they drag something personal out while you have company?

I had a cat who did that! YUCK! He would also hang out by the toilet and try to grab the flushable unmentionables before they went down!

He used to "hide" my earrings in his water bowl too. Gee I miss that cat!

Re: this too shall pass, I hope

lol! a few weeks ago, all was quiet...then I heard RIIIIPPPPPP! Max got a pair of cotton undies & made a nice side slit!

I'm usually very careful & keep things out of reach. I still have no idea how he got them because I keep bedroom door closed & they have no access to hamper w/o me present!

The other day, I noticed an ear plug was missing. I was working nights for a while and needed them to sleep during the day. I usually put them in a plastic case, but Athena somehow got one & ate it! yuck!

I only realized it when I saw her 'counter-surfing' my nightstand!

If it ain't locked down, it's fair game I guess. LOL... my trash can is on top of my dresser, my kitchen trash can is pegged between a chair & the table for the microwave so they can't open the lid, lol.. they still find ways periodically to get 'stuff.' Need less to say, I bought more soup bones for them to chew raw & keep them happy!

Hahahaha, I'm just laughing at how delicately Hilda must have munched them off.

What a little bugger!

Zack had a period where he chewed on something that was the last thing I touched before I went to school. He even got the bathroom door open and got in to my make-up kit that I have and ate all my (birthcontrol)sugar pills. He was hyper for two day after, he spend a lot of that time in his crate. Thank God it wasn't any dangerous stuff. I have been lucky that everything that he have chewed came out the other end.

He never chewed anything else!
