Constant whining?

My girl Josie is about 8 months old and 65-70 lbs. now. In the past 3 weeks or so she has developed the habit of constantly whining. Used to be she would go to the door and cry when she needed to go out, but lately it's every hour or 45 minutes she sits by the door or window and whines. She has also began "digging" in her crate and seems to flop around a lot when in there. This is all coming from a pup that a month ago seemed quite comfortable in her surroundings. The weather in NY has been pretty frigid over the past month so it's not always pleasant, but Josie gets at least 2 half hour walks, 2 shorter walks and sometimes a brief midday trip to the dog park to play ball (benefits of working from home).

Is this normal at all? or is it a sign she's not getting enough exercise? I work from home too, so maybe she is just looking for more attention?

Appetite is normal, but she has developed a minor case of dandruff lately. I have been adding a little olive oil to her Canidae and it seems to be helping. I also try to wipe her feet after walks to remove the salt from the roads.

She's mostly herself except for these contant moans and groans.

Anyone else experience anything like this? Don't mean to be a hypocondriac, but the whining is really making me nuts so i want to break the habit fast if possible.

No, that's not normal behavior. Has she been in season yet?

Re: Constant whining?

If she is intact, probably coming into season or having a false pregnancy. Sounds like false pregnancy actions to me.

Re: Constant whining?

If they spilled some hormones during the spay it could still be false pregnancy symptoms. The timing is about right

That would be my guess also.

Judi, if it is false pregnancy symptons are there any actions I should be taking or will it just run it's course?

Should I treat Josie like my girlfriend when she has her period and give her a little exrta slack? (as I duck to avoid the smack in the back of the head from my GF)
