Frustrated with Shanee

I brought Shanee back from the Vet and she minded my for about a day. Now she wont listen to me and if i leave for any amount of time she just goes #1 or 2 in the house. She wont do it when I am here though. I am so frustrated with her.

More information please: what do you mean "minded", do you mean obedience or housebreaking? How frequently are you letting her out? What was she at the vet for (spaying?)? If she was just spayed, her insides have been poked at and are likely swollen - please don't assume that she's being bad when it's more likely that she can't help it.

Odds are that you'll have to just treat her like she's a small puppy for a while, take her out every couple of hours and right after sleeping and eating, praise her when she goes outside, etc.

Please have patience, as she recovers from her surgery, allow her time to heal. Its all new for her, and she is still young.

What kind of schedule (potty) do you have her on?

Are you home during the day, or can someone let her out once at least if not?

Just trying to get more info in order to give some kind of a answer.

Please know this: Dogs do not go out of SPITE. (Cats however, do sometimes).... whatever is going on with your female, it is not because she is being bad.

You say she goes potty in the house when you are not home....Is she in a crate? Is she a pup?

I think you need to be patient with her, too. She just had a major surgery and I'm sure she's sore and may not want to move around. Cut her a break on this and make sure you take her out frequently to go potty. Once the first few days have passed and she's feeling more like her old self again, things will get back to normal. :)

Sorry about the lack on info. Here it all is. I am a stay at home mom. Shanee just got spayed on monday. She is 10 months young. Shanee is potty trained and was obedient. I am here at the house unless i need to leave for some reason. and when i do have to leave it is never for very long. When i am here she will tell me that she has to go potty. Well as soon as I leave and I have been here with her all the time except for a couple of times when I had to go pick boxes up (we are moveing) or run to the grocery store. Then she will do a # 1 or 2 in the house. with the obedient thing. I seams she has forgoten some of it. Do you think that some of the behavior is because she is fixed or just mad at me. When she went to get spayed she was in the vet over night. Hope this helps. Thanks for the concerns.

She is not mad at you. It's only been 3 days since a MAJOR surgery for her. What I would do if I was having this problem is back up a step and revisit some potty training techniques. Before you leave the house, take her out and wait until she goes before you leave her in the house alone. Remember to praise her and tell her she's a good girl when she goes outside. Don't scold her for going in the house unless you actually see it happen, just clean it up. Make sure to use an enzyme cleaner to remove the odor completely so she's not attracted to the spot.
