| Backwards house breaking Ok Guerin finally got brave enough to use the dog door, so now the nut goes out and plays for along time, then he RUNS into the house and PEES! Then he goes back out! Now he is pooping outdoors no problem but my gosh, he comes all the way in from the way back of the yard at a dead run to pee!

| haha! When Cooper was a puppy, I had to watch him if he followed me to the bathroom. He'd watch me, take notes, and....squat! ![]() So make sure you aren't being an improper role model.... :D

| He is very very proud of his peeing ability and wants you to admire it. Best way for that to happen is for you to go out with him until you have seen him relieve himself. Congratulate him on an excellent job of peeing outdoors and then you can go back in the house. |

| I think you may be on to something Judi, he definatly is proud of his pee. That is what we had started to do, go out with him and play wait for him to pee and come back in, most times it works once in a while he pees out doors comes in and pees again! The tank is endless! Thank goodness for OUT and steam.

| We sort of think the goof gets outside runs around gets all wound up and forgets to pee before he comes in or maybe even thinks the yard is the house and the house is the potty!

| I had been going through this with my foster pup! We figured out that we just couldn't let her run back inside on her own. She would scratch to come in. I would leash her, bring her inside for a *sec* then go back outside and give her the command to go potty. I know my cat door has a hard plastic piece you can slide on one side to "close" the door. Maybe after he goes out, you can close the doggie door, so you can make sure you can control his reentry into the house.... -chloe |

| Good advice, we have started taking him right back out as soon as he comes in and it seems to be working. Oddly enough he never poops in the house!
