two alpha owners possible??

My female Roxy is 8th mts old,ht.23'' wt.72lbs and doing great ,,, my question is this :My wife and I both play a role in bringing Roxy up, I work a rotating 10 hr 4 day and 4 night shift with every other week 5 days off so i spent slightly more time with Roxy,,, my wife works a straight 8 hr-10hr day shift ,,so we are with Roxy at different times and teach her different things, we are also going to split the advance trainning classes(ive taken her to Puppy and Basic trainnig classes but because of a conflict with my work schuelde we will split the Advance course,Ill take her one week ,my wife the next week and share the information learned(which I think is good for Roxy????) I was wondering about the Alpha issue,,,it seems Roxy listens to us both the same and I havent seen which one she would listen to more as in being the Alpha owner,, or is it possible that Roxy considers us both equal as Alpha,,,,Ive read treads that complain about a dog that listens to one owner (husband /wife ) than the other,Ive also read about dogs seeking the Alpha person or dog in a pack or home situaition,So am I right in assumeing that Roxy considers us BOTH Alpha or is that NOT possible,,, and if I looked hard enough will I see that she will favor one of us more than the other???? Is it confusing for the dog to have two equal owners or is it simple to the dog and just confusing to me ???LOL...THANKS ALL

In a dog pack there is an alpha male and an alpha female so I think you are the only one that is confused and your dog is fine. I don't have that issue in my house because my husband does not want to put much time and effort into Sajan. I do all the training, feeding, walking and therefore get all the attention and respect from Sajan.

spoteet is correct in a pack there is an alpha male and an alpha female.

My husband and I are both alpha in our house. I think this is the best situation. If you don't have this you could run into problems! When our child is old enough (I'm 7 months pregnant), she will be the 3rd alpha in the house.

Your dog understands the order perfectly!

All members of the household should be higher than the dog in rank. If you concern is marital - that is a different issue. If it is in relation to the dog, you want her at the bottom. I love Rotts is correct - the dog is not confused.

Thanks to posted answers so far but Id like to clear up that the confusion statement at the end was a light hearted joke,,, thats why its followed by a LOL,,,,,,,neither one of us is trying to compete for Roxys sole attention,, I understand now that she can respect us both equally(( which is really what the question was in a nut shell)),,,,so how we are trainning her is fine,,,Thanks All....:) :) :)
