| Barking at people walking by Hello, My Athena who is 7 months has just recently in the last couple weeks started to bark. She started softly at noises she would bark then run into us and I would let her bark twice then say enough. Last night I heard her outside in her deep bark and ran out to see what the commotion was. She was barking next to the fence at a couple walking their baby in the carriage. I immediately yelled her name and said enough. How can I correct this? She is allowed to come in and out the back door to go potty so I am not always right by her. I would like her to still alert us but to watch them go by and not be such a bully. Trinitii

| I think the best thing would be to teach her to bark on command ;) and then to stop on command. That way she'll learn to stop when YOU want her to. She'll probably leanr what's dangerous and/or threatening and what isn't. She's still a bit young to know all on her own. So try the bark (using a toy you know she loves, giving it to her only once she's made a noise.) At first it'll be a little woof or cry or whine but gradually will come to be a real bark. Only give her the toy when she's made a sound. Then teach her STop or enough or no or whatever. Remember LOVE, PRAISE and PATIENCE are the key words along with knowing when to say NO;) Good luck, Leader
