biting

i've had my rotty for 4.5 weeks. he's now almost 14 weeks old. he recently started growling and biting my toes and hands. i yell No and hold his mouth shut but when he's all worked up it's tough to get his attention with these methods. any suggestions? thanks.

p.s. how long does it usually take to house train?

A lot of good advice, I would go through that and try some of those suggestions.
