Lifting his leg

Yesterday our 7 month old rottie lift his leg when he (well, cant find the right word, peed?) it was the first time he did that and we thought it was pretty early? Arent they supposed to be older when they start doing that?

But after that he walked a little funny, almost like he had hurt his leg. That lasted for half an hour. Any comments about this? Thanks....

In terms of age 7 months is not that early although on the early side. Nothing to worry about there though. In terms of his leg I would have this checked out as it should not cause him any discomfort to lift his leg.

My aunt has a 6 month old St Bernard two weeks olded than my rott. Her dog started lifting his leg at 5 mos. Mine still hadnt and hes almost six mo. Mine only has another female around to watch. My aunt has three males so maybe he just learned it from them.
