| Re: Rottweiler/Pitbull mix My Dad and I took care of a rottweiler/chow(sp) mix. I tried to keep an open mind, but that particular dog took A LOT of work.
After that experience, I can say that I will never own a chow(sp). The guy who bought the dog was an idiot. He told us it was a rottie, which is why we were best choice of all his friends to take care of her while he was away, but the guy who sold it to him(should be in jail in my opinion) tricked him.
It looked enough like a rotte, except for the small nose, the long curly tail(I know that rotties have thier tails docked, but this wasn't a rottie tail), and the spots on the tongue. Like I said, idiot.
The rottweiler/pitt mix I met when I was a kid, however, was one of the coolest dogs I've ever taken care of. I was camping with my 'rents and one of their friends let me walk his dog. He told me that the dog normally hated kids, but I seemed to be an exception. That dog was great!
A little bit of a side story: When we were taking care of our friend's rottie/chow mix, who was a puupy at the time, Sammy couldn't stop trying to nibble the puppy's tail! Sammy has been raised with a rat terrier, another tailess breed, so she was utterly perplexed by a tail. She would follow the puppy around, trying to bite her tail right off! |
