Rottweiler/Pitbull mix The other day I ran into an old friend and we talked for a few minutes before she started telling me about the puppies her pitbull had. She went on to say that her boyfriend was planning to dump all 7 of the puppies. After hearing that I became irate at even the thought of such. Her defense for this heartless man was..."no one is going to want a rotti/pit mix, they're to mean, hell nobody around here wants either breed, full blooded or not". Sorry, but that's a pathetic excuse imo. I found wonderful homes for 6 of the puppies with families who know about one or both of the breeds and I decided to take home the last little girl who was left. She is wonderful and very loving and Anna adores her, however, we have friends and even some relatives who allow they will never come by as long as we have 'Mae'. I truly believe that ANY dog can turn on its owner....breed doesn't matter. I couldn't sit by knowing the fate of those poor little pups and do nothing. My husband and I feel we done the right thing by bringing Mae home and we do not regret our decision regardless of what some 'friends' may say. Any suggestions for a great come back to those words of...'well we wont be over as long as you have that dog'........would be greatly appreciated. I, personally am sick of hearing that. I believe each dog should be given a chance. All opinions on this are welcomed! Thanks |
