No need here.
The girls are active and alert yes, but they are well used to loud noises, like fireworks, and hot air baloons going over the house...the sound of firing up is a loud WHOOSH!
We have fireworks at the Binghamton Mets home games, every Friday night. We live far enough away where the noise isn't deafening. In fact I'll take one or the other to a corner where we can see it. They sit and watch!
You didn't mention the circumstances under which your vet prescribed a tranquilizer. Was it for loud sounds?
I had a GSD/Doberman mix once. He was on valium for siezures.
