Well I didn't realize how ignorant some of my friends are till yesterday. One less person my friends list
I took Janus with me over to a friend's house. First time he met Janus. He asked me about his training and if I was planning on breeding him and that he thinks Janus is a handsome boy and would want one of his pups if I decide to breed him (which he kept pushing the issue, and I told him it was never going to happen, cause he's going to get fixed).
Then he started talked to me about how I "should be training Janus, that I wasn't doing it propperly cause Janus doesn't fear me". I told him how stupid of an idea that was and that I didn't need a dog that fears me, but actually respects me. He then continued to say "here let me show you" and he stood up... before he was completely standing I myself had stood up and called Janus to my feet. I warned him if he ever came near my dog to "show me" anything that I would be showing him a few things myself. Then he tells me that I should have someone dressed as a cop and teach Janus how to bite the person dressed as a cop
I was beyond myself and told him that if I had anyone dressed as a cop, it would be to show Janus that they are good people and to be trusted unlike him.
Needless to say I left there with those parting words and left all of Janus's chew toys and food. I just grabbed him and his leash and my purse and left without another word. I'm surprised I didn't say or do anything else to get my point across at how POed I was with his remarks.
Unfortunately I know that when I finally move to Florida, that I will be surrounded by more ignorant people with those same thoughts
Ignorant people... unfortunately they're everywhere.
