It actually can cut the topcoat...if you do to much at one time
!! I think it 'grabs' the dead and loose hairs the easiest...therefore that is what comes off first! After all the loose hair is gone it starts on the attached hair! I once had a client who balded his GSD with the furminator...he went a little crazy with the brushing.
