could the puppy playing scratch at his eyes?
could be eye ulcer. it hurts, they squint, the more light, the more they squint.
as soon as you can, take to the vet and check eyes for ulcers and eye pressure. if they can;'t give you a good answer or find what is wrong, i would schedule to see a opthamologist.
