Just wanted to give an update...no test results yet
. Hopefully Monday! But, I really don't think a liver shunt is her problem; the vet told me to watch her after meals...if she had a shunt, we would see signs (or seizures) AFTER feedings. She is fine after meals.
Jesse and I really have a 'gut' feeling that her seizures were indeed caused by the new carpet! There is nothing else it could be that makes sense; Nisha has been kind of obsessively sniffing the carpet (okay, maybe not obsessively...but a lot). She has always been a sniffer, but she really likes that carpet! Also, she scratches at it, which is a little weird. We have never had any carpeting until last month.
She has been fine since the video was taken; maybe the formaldehyde is dissipating already??? It is another waiting game for us...will she freak out again or not?
If the bile test comes back negative (which I anticipate) the doctor said she wants to start her on Pheno. Do you think we should go ahead and put her on it? I would hate for her to be 'drugged up' if she doesn't really need it. But, I would hate for her to not be on it and have another seizure. The last one was on May 10th, so it has been over a week.
