I'm not a huge fan of statistics but they're out there. As large dog owners of course we are aware that small dogs bite and can be aggressive as well. It's also a fact that big dogs do big damage. ex. my husband got bitten on the calf by a small dog whose irresponsible owner let it run out of the gate and ACROSS the street to where my husband was. Work rules required that he go to the doctor. Doc. gave him some antibiotic ointment and sent him on his way. Do you think the result would have been the same had a Rottie, Pittie, Shepherd or Chow got ahold of him? Some of it is just common sense. I might be in danger of getting bitten by a small dog but it's more dangerous to get bitten by a big one.
