Since when do only 'common thugs' have ill behaved dogs? Do you mean to say that Mr. and Mrs. Average Joe don't let their dogs do things that are generally considered rude? Mr. and Mrs. Joe always pick up after their dogs, heel their dogs, have non dog aggressive dogs? So I'm really not sure what your point was with the common thug comment. What determines what a common thug is? According the the OC they did not say 'large breeds' were not allowed, they specified what breeds were not allowed. Pitbulls actually are not large dogs at all.

Actually, in light of the fact that Rottie's ARE in the top 10 list of dangerous breeds do you blame them, although I believe German Shepherds are too. However, I think the public perception of a G.S. and a Rottie are different. I agree that most people ARE hesistant and intimidated. They are scary looking dogs. I love mine, but I am never unaware that he appears threatening. This is a business - they are trying to gain more business and appeal to the public so having scary, intimidating dogs running around isn't likely to achieve that goal. I don't agree with the restrictions placed upon me because of my dog but I accept that I have a dog that most people are afraid of. Regardless of how 'sweet' he is and just wants to 'kill with kisses'. Strangers don't want to hear that.

I would much rather they require all dogs to have a CGC or equivalent, at least I could have a reasonable expectation that the dogs will be fairly well behaved.

In any event, maybe it's just me, but I really don't WANT to travel to a resort that allows dogs. If they had some type of kennel on the property like Disney that would be fine, but dogs in rooms, walking the halls? No thank you. The fact is that dogs stink, shed, pee and poop and it isn't always picked up promptly or cleaned up properly.

One last thing - how can a person be racist towards a dog?
