My vet doesn't like too either. But understood the pickle I'm in. See, I don't have a fenced in yard anymore and the dogs go to work with my BF during the day. His work day is really long and isn't able to come home and let one out if we were to leave her at home. And I work 100 miles away, so that really wasn't an option. Nor did we even have anyone that I felt comfortable/or was able to watch her during the day. She just started to spot, so I'm hoping that will make things not quite so bad.
