I was trying to find out if seizures caused by flagyl can develop 2 to 4 weeks after meds were discontinued...I did find some references to "lessions" in the brain of animals that reacted to flagyl...but no clear time references. What I kept repeatedly finding was that a conterindication of using flagyl was a prior reaction to it...so I'm not sure why your vet elected to use it again. The part of an article that I posted on your thread indicated that diazapam dramatically improved recovery times in dogs with metranidazole toxicosis...just something to keep in mind as an fyi.
If it is idiopathic seizuring, I'm hoping she feels better once on seizure meds. It does sound as if you're on the verge of figuring out what was happening to your girl...fingers crossed!! |
