Re: Rott Puppy diagnosed with hip dysplasia in both hips

I'm so sorry to hear of this diagnosis and know your pain all to well. Our boy was diagnosed with Grade 5 hip dysplasia in his right hip at age 5 months. His socket didn't develop either. Once he was diagnosed, we too realized there were signs that we didn't catch.

We were going to have total hip replacement (THR) surgery on him but the catch was his growth plates had to be closed and they preferred to do it after 12 months. Quade was kept lean, was energetic and just an amazing boy but sadly his hip was causing him so much pain by the time he was 8.5 months old that pain medication wasn't helping. After two nights of him not sleeping, panting, etc. we made the best decision for Quade and that was to put him to sleep. We owed him that much for all the love he had given us.

I wish the outcome to be different for you but have a feeling you will travel the same road we just did and one that so many others have travelled.

Enjoy the time you have with her, give her lots of love and take lots of pictures. She was brought to you for a reason and you to her as well.

Thinking of you and sending lots of prayers your way.
