No, this isn't something most RDNers recommend doing. It's the alpha roll and it's considered outmoded and it's been discredited.
You may get away with doing this to a young puppy but do you really want to be doing this to a mature Rottie? There are more intelligent ways to interact with your puppy or dog.
If your puppy is running at your son and nipping at his pant legs, better to reel Honda by the old leash or piece of line he's dragging around and give him something legitimate on which he can chew. This is called redirection. |
