| Tuxedo's "Moses" On Over... …joined our many special angels at the bridge last night. His body was too worn out to continue the fight any longer. Although there is not an official diagnosis or disease, tests have proven that his liver was diseased and failing. This failure contributed to the onset of seizures, the last being a Grand Mal earlier yesterday. Unfortunately, there is no cure…Therefore, it was with much sadness and heartbreak that we held him close as he crossed the Bridge and left our loving human arms for his new wings…
Many years ago we met when our hearts connected from first sight. “Sweet Boy” as he became known in our house was fearful, reactive and untrusting…He came into our home with so many challenges. A rescue from abuse-- he and I worked diligently to teach him the ‘good’ in humans. Once a very scared little boy, he blossomed into a very confident, assured and mature rottweiler. Moses joined our family petrified of his own shadow, not allowing anyone close to his heart – he left us as the master of ‘brown sad eyes’ full of mischievousness. He will forever be remembered in my heart as a sweet boy full of affection, tenderness, warmth and devotion. I whole heartedly believe he was meant to be with me. He loved to work and please, conquering his CGC at age 6 – and I was the human honored to see the real Moses – a shy and bashful boy, a bit hesitant and timid, very quiet and reserved. Somehow through it all, he gained confidence and learned to love – teaching us that love is always unconditional.
We conquered many trials and tribulations together and through it all he taught me life is constantly changing and coming full circle. Yet somehow despite the tragedies life thrusts upon us, unconditional trust and love always guide us through. He has been my solace these past few months and I am so grateful he chose me to be the human he shared his heart with – he holds a very special piece of mine as he begins the next leg of his journey. This part of the journey is without me – but someday we will meet again.
Godspeed my ‘sweet boy’, my Moses…You touched my heart and changed my life forever… Fly high on your golden wings…Our hearts will be forever connected… Until we meet again…I love you…
