A study done in the UK in 1999 found the following:
Most prone to cancer:
* Afghan Hounds
* Irish Wolfhounds
* Standard Poodles, and
* Rottweilers
Least prone to cancer:
* Airedales
* Beagles
* Dachshunds
* Irish Setters
* Jack Russell Terriers
* Rough Collies, and
* Yorkshire Terriers
Food may play into it with a predisposition, but otherwise I doubt it. Some dogs eat nothing but garbage their entire lives and live to be 18, perky 'til their dying day. Others are fed the best and die young. Genetics has to be the true culprit....there's no other explanation for it.
