If you have hardwood floors you can clean them with White Vinegar in hot water - this is EXTREMELY effective, streak free and safe for dogs who eat off the floor.
Motholated spirits and hot water is another floor cleaner that is also streak free and very effective, not sure about animals who eat of the floor though.
These 2 tips were given to me by the person who pollished our floorboards in our old house, he also said that it doesn't take the polish off like some harsh cleaners do....
