| has anyone heard of... Has anyone heard of the Sit means Sit training program? I am not sure if I am understanding it right but someone posted a video on another forum. The lady was walking a Pit Bull around in a dog park with lots of other dogs around and people were so impressed by this dogs attention to owner and the fact that it was obedient. Then I watched what the lady was doing. She had the remote in her hand and the dog was wearing an e-collar.
I am curious as to what other people think about this type of training. I mean sit or I zap, look away or I zap, move to far ahead or behind I zap. It just seemed a bit unfair to the dog. I like a well trained dog as well as the next guy but I also want a dog that wants to work, not does what I say only for fear of being zapped. I also think e collars have their place with training on some dogs. I just cannot help but think if this training really worked then you would no longer need the collar on and the dog would still be following your commands. Training should be with tools until the commands are known and then the tool is no longer needed. IMO So, I am just curious as to what others think about that program or even if they ever heard of it. Thanks for all responses. |
