I understand your input. I see what you mean with Greta. However, this is seems more of a resource guarding issue rather than fear agression. Yes, the link is becomes appropriate for sideline informational purposes. But, they are not interchangable. A dog who guards is not necessarily fear agressive as well.
Many dogs grumble, especially in new situations. It's often the way with fosters. They've been bumped around, perhaps from one place to another, before they end up in a foster home...or adopted. I wouldn't necessarily lump all of that into fear agression.
It is hard over the internet. Certainly! I'm not reading the situation as quite yet a diagnosis fear agression. I see it as more of a temporary uncertainty and resource guarding.
Some of the techniques may still work. I agree ANY growl be given the corrective "A-a-a-a-a-h=h!" and backs turned, ignore even walking away until they return to make contact. It gives man or woman the "upper hand." I just don't like the label, I guess.
