People look at the Dog before they ever see the collar.

Here's the thing... small dogs who are agressive and bite don't make the headlines, Rottweilers always do!... so it doesn't really matter what small dogs wear in my opinion. It is so important as a Rottweiler owner to try and portray our breed in the best possible light.
I will be honest with all of you...there is a teenage boy in my neighbourhood who has a really tough looking pitbull (I'm sure the dog is probably a big sweetheart). The kid walks this dog on a spiked collar and a thick chain leash. Also, the dog is unaltered. When I see them I immediately pass judgement each and everytime... I see a young lad out there trying to prove something with his "mean" looking dog. Had he had his dog on a normal collar, or even a prong with a normal leash... I wouldn't even think about it. I also see other peoples reactions to the this dog and I can assure you it is not positive. People even cross the street when they see Chino and I trotting up the sidewalk and my dog is a great big old pussycat.
As wrong as it is, it is just human nature to think this way. We are fed so much through the media that eventually it gets to you.
