Germany Rottweilers are born in Germany and have tails. American Rottweilers are born in the US and their tails are docked.

You'll note their similarity. That's because the AKC standard was based on the FCI standard.

Anyone who tells you there's a difference--as in German Rotties have heavier bone, blockier heads, darker markings, or some such--is either speaking from ignornace or engaging in a snow job.
