Re: my puppy did not grow in the last 2 months!

It takes time for a Rottie to mature and reach their adult weight, and for the sake of their bones you don't want them to grow too fast. Both my rescue rotties came to me at about 1 yr old and 60-65 lbs - trim, but not underweight. Big heads, big feet and skinny rat bodies -- just like gangly teenagers. It took another 12 -18 months for their chests to fill out and for everything to come into proportion. Abby, my bitch, is now a trim 78 lbs; and Calvin, my old male, matured at about 90-95 (though he was a bit heavy). But remember, the value of your dog is not his weight...it's not a contest! And given Rottie's tendencies to joint problems and obesity, bigger is not better. Give your little boy good food, exercise, training and, most of all, time and by the time he's three you'll have a fabulous dog you can be really proud of.
