Fly Free Quade

I miss you so much, tonight by far is the hardest. It's only been a week that you've been gone but the quiet in the house is deafening.

You were in our lives for such a short time but you will live forever in our hearts and your goofy antics will bring many a smile. Tonight though I miss your 'Quade'ness. The way you would try to snuggle like you were still just a little pup, how you nestled your head in my neck and would sigh and give such a tender little lick.

My brain knows that we made the right choice overall but my heart is still having a hard time. To hear that your hip had deteriorated to bone on bone and that it was causing you such excruciating pain finalized what I feared most. I find a bit of peace knowing that your pain has ended but we had so many hopes and dreams of our life with you. To camp, fish, go hiking, spend time at the beach and with the kids that you loved so much that you would shake with excitement and would work so hard to stay calm.

There seems to be too much extra time now Pootie Wootie and it is then that you are really missed. For all the times you irritated us with your Cuz and your bull in the china shop accidents you left us also with memories of unconditional love, patience and always a laugh or two. Although the muddy paw prints you left on the carpet upset me, I love all the paw prints you left in my heart.

Waiting for the day we can meet again and for now Run Free my Mister, Mister.
Loving you always, your human Mom.
