I write this through the tears my baby has gone.
Beau you were such a skinny thing when we got you back in 1997, but you stole my heart the minute I set eyes on you. You had the best teacher in the world to show you things and play with,(I hope you find Shan at the bridge and play again). Boy did you used to tease Shan until she would come play with you. You used to share the same bed the same food ball everything.
You were so depressed when we lost her we didnt know what to do with you, anyway you recovered in time and allowed the babies into your life, anything small and helpless you were fascinated by them you would whine and grumble and wouldnt leave them alone, whether it was two legged or four legged if there was a baby you were there stump wagging like mad and vocal like you wouldnt believe. You never seemed to be ill in the whole time we had you until you started to limp last October. We let it go at first thinking you had probably twisted your leg or pulled a muscle or similar. You went to the vet in November where you were diagnosed with osteosarcoma and given weeks to live. You baby had other ideas. You were not gonna let it stop you doing the things you enjoyed the playing "raggie" or chasing the rabbits in the fields, it was still fun to you. Anyway at Xmas we bought Mabel and you set about teaching her if she was up to mischief(which she often was) you would walk up to her nudge her and grumble at her and she would walk away, I swear you were telling her off. Again you had someone to share your bed with and she would snuggle up to you and go to sleep and you would stay there til she woke up.
In your last weeks with us there was almost a role reversal in the house Mabel would do everything possible to make things easy for you. Maybe it was her way of saying thankyou I dont know.
We are so greatful to have had eleven and a half years with you my gentle, loyal, faithful baby boy. You will always be missed.
