| Re: Agility After obedience class on Saturday, Jett and I hung around to watch a few people in Agility and I thought it looked like a lot of fun for both dog and handler.
Jett is a very High Energy dog so i need to do more things with her (currently we train twice per week; Wednesday night at the Rotty Club and Saturday afternoons at my local Dog Club), we go on 4 x 1/2 hour walks every day but STILL she has an astounding amount of energy. So i enquired about Agility. I was told that i was not allowed to enrol her until she was 12 months old and because she is a rotty maybe i would have to wait until she was 18 months old. Jett is 6 months old, I had no idea how old the dog had to be and i 'assumed' that i could just do this for fun until she was old enough (i was looking at the tunnel work and the climbing NOT jumping). Is this normal to be told your dog has to wait until 12-18 months old? I dont want to do anything that will hurt her, we just need to do more to try and run all of this energy out of her.
Can someone please tell me what other things I can do with her at this age?
Many thanks,
Trina
