 Help! Injury to front leg!
Hello Everyone-
I had a scare last night and I think my Rottie may have injured her front leg...
What happened was that I was vacuuming and my pup doesn't like the vacuum. So when it was time for me to vacuum the side of the bedroom she was on I inched towards her and told her to "watch out & move" and she sped past me and hit the side of our bed with her front leg! She sat and howled and whined for a good 2 minutes and then was trying to walk on it. She can walk on it and put pressure on it but is very vocal about it and whines loudly. This happened last night at about 10pm. She went up and down the stairs twice and whined when she did that. I had a friend come over that has dogs and runs a rescue so her knowledge is good and she felt her leg and squeezed her paw, shoulders and chest with no whining....hmm. She suggested that she maybe she pulled a muscle and that we should watch her and see if it progressed...she didn't want me spending a huge amount of money at the emergency vet. Today she is walking a little bit, just to go outside, but won't eat and has laid down all morning in the same spot! I don't know what to do! My vet is open in the morning at 8am but I don't want to hurt her more by not addressing it now!!! Any suggestions????  |
