Its good to know that giving up is not an option. I guess that money doesn't gaurantee quality when it comes to dogs. So many people in my area have never concidered paying that much for a dog. So many BYB's around here. Sometimes with age comes maturity...but in your case, I am at a loss. I wish you the best with your guy. Love and patience goes a long way.
