There is no such thing as purely positive training - it's just marketing. It's also not helpful IMO.
Even if you use no 'corrections' at all you will still be using negative punishment and/or extinction which can be quite aversive (if they weren't they would not work!).
OC tells us that reinforcement cannot exist without punishment. The fact that teaching and training should involve as much reinforcement as possible and as little punishment as needed does not change that fact..... |
