I haven't worked pits in many years and I certainly haven't worked as many as you but from my experience, Pits don't have that same inherent tenacity towards a human as they do an animal. This is one of the reason why I think the pit is not a good schH dog. Yes it CAN do it, but I don't think you could be a serious competitor with a pitbull. At the end of the day there are too many questions... will the dog clown on me on trial day? will the dog out? will the dog bite? Anyone of these issues is going to be a problem on trial day.
