Amber's fixed but last year when she popped an anal gland (it was impacted) we went the dog pants route to keep her away from it while it healed. I did a combo of trish & lola's ideas, actually had a pad stuck to a pair of bicycle shorts with the dog pants on top of them because if I stuck the pad to the dog pants themselves Amber could nose it aside & get at the wound. You really do need a tail to keep those pants in place but a pad stuck to the dog pants should be fine.

And yes to what trish said! Make sure you take the pants off before your girl goes outside to do her business.
