For a dog in heat, the pet stores sell doggie pants.They come with pads that you keep changing. I tried them for Lola but they didn't stay up well because I think the dog really needs a tail to keep them up. We ended up taking a pair of tights, Leggs brand from the drug store. I cut off the legs and she stepped into them. They were pulled up to her mid section. I used a thin self stick maxi pad. I slid it down under her tail inside the tights. It stayed in place because the elastic material of the tights held it. If you try this, get 2 pairs because when she goes out to do her business, they have to come off and they may need to be washed. Lola is a big girl so we needed an XL sixe tights. She went through at least 2 boxes of maxi pads. She was spayed 4months after her first heat.
