Re: jealousy???

Yes, I agree the pup is just overly excited to see your hubby. Since hubby is gone all day the pup will of course be very excited to see him.

I would impliment the NILIF policy in the household, this way your pup learns new behaviors to earn attention from you and your hubby. Perhaps when hubby comes home you, hubby and pup could go for a walk around the neighborhood. This way the pup gets to spend time with hubby, do potty and get exercise.

You can google tons of information on NILIF training, it's all about dogs/puppies learning to offer a good behavior for a reward, behaviors that earn rewards will be repeated...for example if a puppy jumps all over his owner when the owner comes home and the owner laughs and half heartely pushes the dog off and says down down in a fun loving voice the dog does not understand this is bad it becomes a game and then it becomes the normal greeting. Dogs understand tone of voice and body language not words. You can turn that into a good greeting by crossing arms and turning away and ignoring...then ask for a sit and then pet the dog. Soon the dog learns that to get attention the sit will earn this.

Is the potty submissive urinating? Most pups grow out of this....most...not all.

Having 6 dogs in my household I found the NILIF policy to be invaluable. It teaches housemanners and how to act when the dog may be stressed. All my dogs eat in the kitchen none are confined and they all lick each others bowls after the meal with no issues & none of these dogs grew up with each other. A confused dog is a bad dog, a dog that knows the rules of the house and learns manners is a wonderful animal to live with. :)
