The groomer does a much better job than I do. The location and tools are the same (literally) that were used when Zooey was raised and this was the second time this particular woman groomed her. The first time, she had no problems. I clip the tips of her nails at home to make sure that she has consistent experience but I have clipped too close on my other dogs before and wanted to keep the process a painless one for Zooey, hence the groomer, who uses a grinder.

I want Zooey to have as many experiences as possible. I was disappointed by the groomer's decision to continue but I'm also confused as to why Zooey suddenly had a problem. I'll supervise if we decide to use the groomer again.

Added: If we ever had to board the dogs for three days or more, they require a full groom. This is the woman who would be doing that groom.
