Of course things will get better...give it time.
When I brought our pup home...I did not even let them meet face to face. I let our older female smell the pup through the crate door, and when the puppy was loose..the older dog was in her crate. She really did not think much of him when he came close to her crate. I just kept them separated for the first week or so. The we took them for a short walk together...hubby took older dog, and I took puppy and we walked them on leash side by side. They were fine after that. Though I swear older dog, had that look every once in awhile that said "when is this puppy leaving?"
Just take things slow...give the older dog one on one time....and take puppy out often,etc. They will eventually get along...just make sure older dog has a chance to get away from puppy and have some peace and quiet.
