Most dock diving competitions are done with a man-made dock and large pool-if it is at a lake-the jumping area is cleared and checked daily for debris. I have taken my Rott to competition-she loves it-jumped 9 feet 11 inches her first time out!!! I just have a hard time getting her out of the pool!
There are some great training articles on dockdogs.com-it looks easy but its not-you have to build the dogs confidence at the edge of the dock. Most competitions will have "open" dock practice in between heats-anyone can practice then! |
