Dogs recognize us by our shape - the outline of our shape. When you wear a hat, you have changed your shape, and the dog may not recognize you. I don't know if this is the same in the dark - perhaps the shape is not recognized in the dark?
This is one of the reasons we need to socialize, socialize, socialize - giving puppies the opportunity to see many different people, dressed differently, and in many different situations. |
