Zoe will ring her bell 5 minutes after she's had a totally productive trip to the yard if she hears the little yappers next door outside. She doesn't just ring it, she beats the heck out of it. LOL Interesting thing, we also have a 5 year old DoberGal, and she has begun to ring the bell when she wants out.
