Glad that you got your dog to the vet.
Did the vet do an x-ray of the knee? or just feel around? Why did he prescribe antibiotics if they think it's a sprain?
The knee should be x-rayed if it does not get better. At 9 years of age...OS (bone cancer) or a torn cruciate could be the problem. Many people here start with their dogs having a limp, and the vet saying it's a sprain....when the limping continues.....then a diagnosis of OS is finally made later.

Please keep this in mind.
