Re: Male unable to complete the task

And, you haven't responded at all to the info from experienced breeders here that your female at 6 is old for a first litter (never mind how overweight she may be, unless she is so tall to be WAY out of the standard) Do you want to risk her life???? And, experienced breeders have also told you that if your male cannot "complete the task", it may indicate a good genetic reason for NOT breeding him.

Send your family and friends to experienced breeders for a pup, or to rescue organizations who have some really fine Rottie pets that are already HERE and need homes. Then they won't come back to you to pay their vet bills if your pups end up having one or more of the many expensive and heartbreaking genetic defects Rotties are prone to and you haven't tested for. And they won't be dumping their "nice" pup from your dogs at a shelter if they don't want it any more, or breeding it, like you did, and produce more untested pups. The problem of breeding unproven dogs is a geometric one, mathematically....that's why there are SO MANY pups who eventually end up without homes.

Again, read the stickies at the top of the breeding forum about breeding "nice dogs" and "nice pets". You have no reason that is good for your dogs or good for the breed to breed either of these dogs at this time.
