I am a new rottie owner so I don't know if they are proned to being attacked. But, my other dogs have been in similar situations. It's very frustrating. I once ended up kicking a dog to stop the dog from trying to attack my dog on a walk. My dog hid behind me while the other dog went crazy. But, I felt horrible when it was over because I hurt the animal. It was the only way I could get the dog to stop because the owner had no control. I was upset with the dogs owner for letting the dog get away from him and being carless with it's behavior. The incident happened so fast that I just reacted. I feel it's often peoples fault who don't train their dogs or watch for signs of aggression. I try to walk my dogs on opposite sides of the street when I see another dog. I love the idea of pepper spray so I'm going to invest in it. I am sorry this happened to you and I'm glad you are both okay.
