So far the cat hasn't tried drinking or eating out of Janus's bowls, so I don't think I'll have a problem of him guarding his bowls from the cat.
Does anyone else have a cat that likes eating and drinking out of the dog food bowls? My last cat and dog use to fight over this issue, but then be best friends for the rest of the time.
My cats only drink from my dog's bowl lately. However, I think I found a reasonable explanation. Since dogs drink much more than cats the bowl is filled more frequently with fresh water, versus the cat's bowls are filled just once a day. Pretty smart cats I have!
